UF Scientists Investigate Citrus Greening

University of Florida has created an equation showing show citrus greening is spread.

The disease was originally detected in Florida in 2005. Trees can have the disease without showing it, and insecticides may not be effective against it.

The disease is being spread by a tiny insect that carries bacteria. The scientists’ goal is to isolate the bacterium at the heart of the disease, so they can discover substances that might counter it.
